Collaboration with CEPOL and EUROPOL

Really excited to announce our recent collaboration with European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Training (CEPOL) and Europol for delivering the first micro-credentials training on operational intelligence analysis.

In particular, the Centre for Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning of the Harokopio University of Athens implemented with CEPOL and EUROPOL a Train-the-Trainers programme, which awarded micro-credentials (4 ECTS credits) to participants successfully completing the course.

The overall course took place between 20 October and 22 December 2025, and comprised a total of 105 training hours.

This jointly issued qualification comprises a nice example of collaboration between academic institutions and law enforcement agencies, facilitating CEPOL’s broader objectives on vocational, lifelong learning and skills recognition.

Personally, I am particularly honored for serving as the academic responsible for this course, I would like to thank CEPOL personnel for their trust and looking forward to similar synergies in the future.

This activity comprises a result of the research activities of my team HUA computer vision group in the security domain and especially the following recent/ongoing European RnD projects SALUS Horizon, GANNDALF, ARMADILLO EU Project, Ceasefire Project and KLEPTOTRACE.
