Happy to host today and tomorrow at the premises of the Harokopio University of Athens the kick-off meeting of TRIFFID Project (auTonomous Robotic aId For increasing FIrst responDers efficiency), where I have the honor to act as the project coordinator.
- TRIFFID targets the development of an integrated approach for maximizing the efficiency of first responders’ field operations, by advancing remote and smart robotic reconnaissance in disaster sites, while integrating it into European civil protection procedures.
- The core goal involves the development of a hybrid legged UGV (unmanned ground vehicle) and UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) robotic platform for autonomous real-time inspection in dynamic environments.
- The TRIFFID system will be demonstrated in three different real-world use-cases (UC), namely wildfire, flood and earthquake disaster scenarios.
Very fruitful discussions take place and looking forward to the implementation phase.
