Yesterday and today we organized the (virtual) kick-off meeting of project TRIFFID (auTonomous Robotic aId For increasing FIrst responDers efficiency), where I have the honor to act as the project coordinator.
- TRIFFID targets the development of an integrated approach for maximizing the efficiency of first responders’ field operations, by advancing remote and smart robotic reconnaissance in disaster sites, while integrating it into European civil protection procedures.
- The core goal involves the development of a hybrid legged UGV (unmanned ground vehicle) and UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) robotic platform for autonomous real-time inspection in dynamic environments.
- The TRIFFID system will be demonstrated in three different real-world use-cases (UC), namely wildfire, flood and earthquakedisaster scenarios.
Very fruitful discussions took place and looking forward to the implementation phase.
